Biometric & RFID Attendance: Complete Setup Guide

Fingerprint scanners, RFID cards, QR scans — whatever hardware your school has, here's exactly how to connect it and what parents get notified when their child is absent.

Biometric RFID Hardware

Four ways to mark attendance

Attendance can be taken four ways in E-CampusBridge — manual, bulk, biometric device, or offline. Most schools start with manual (ticking a class list on a phone in 30 seconds) and graduate to biometric as they invest in hardware.

  • Manual — tick each student present/absent on any device
  • Bulk — mark a whole class present in one tap, then flip the absentees
  • Biometric — fingerprint/RFID/card readers punch automatically
  • Offline — mark attendance even when the internet is down; syncs later

Connecting your device

Each student can carry a biometric ID or an RFID card number in their profile. When a student taps at the device, the punch is recorded instantly and matched to the student. The live-punches feed shows exactly who walked in and when.

  • Get your device API key from the Biometric Setup page
  • Enter the server URL into the hardware device
  • Assign biometric IDs / RFID cards to students in one screen
  • Verify with a single test punch before going live

Parents are notified instantly

The moment a student is marked absent (or late), the parent's phone gets a notification with the student's name and date — no more 'we thought they went to school'. Daily attendance percentage feeds dashboards, report cards, and the analytics view automatically.
